Haiku of the Day

Last night on TV,
Republicans debated.
Worse than a train wreck.

Haiku of the Day

From the sky comes snow.
Its graceful fall mutes the air.
Prevailing silence.

Haiku of the Day

Today is Friday.
Looking forward to the weekend.
Yesterday was Thursday.

My attempt at a Pantoum

Clarity as Rare as Sunlight

The crisp air burns my throat.
Breathing gets heavier the less I can see.
Through haze and fog I drift,
Clarity as rare as sunlight.

Breathing gets heavier, the less I see
Anything, even right in front of me.
Clarity as rare as sunlight
In Winter's dominion.

Anything, even in front of me
Fails to bring fire to my eyes.
In Winter's dominion
I struggle to rekindle flames of endurance.

Failing to bring fire to my eyes,
I drift through haze and fog.
I struggle to rekindle flames of endurance
As the crisp air burns my throat.

Haiku of the Day

Darkness giving way.
Days now grow ever longer.
Sun lingers in the sky.

More 2012 Limericks

My apologies in advance about the fat joke...

Winter's the evilest of seasons.
Cold, wind and snow are the reasons.
     Plus never enough light,
     Days shorter than night.
So much smog in the air, it's treason!

On a walk in the park in the cold,
Our hands in his jacked enfold.
     With warm coffee in hand,
     Conversation spanned
The length of the time that we strolled.

Sometimes I watch Biggest Loser.
Makes me my own kind of substance abuser.
     Watching fat people run
     Was never so fun.
My hat's off to the producer.

My first poetry of 2012...limericks...

Heather has trouble with numbers.
Above 15 or 16 she blunders.
     How she counts sheep
     When trying to sleep
One must certainly wonder.

Calliope likes to eat trash.
Thinks the garbage is her personal stash.
Into the can goes her nose
     For something disposed
Until I start smacking her ass.

Pierre is a dog that I know
Whose gay dad sets my face all aglow.
     When he snuggles between us
     I know that this must
Be a moment I'll never let go.
